Description
Legend has it that this variety was once grown by inmates at Eastern State Penitentiary and named after the street where they were released. Dr. Weaver obtained seeds for this variety from Mrs. M.J. Grooms of Philadelphia around 1982. Mrs. Grooms’ great-grandfather had been a cook at the prison, and she recalled that the prisoners grew these tomatoes in their large garden. The fruits are round, reddish-pink, and typically measure around 2.5″ in diameter. Known for its impressive productivity, this variety produces an abundant harvest. Source Happy Cat Farm
